2024 OPEN ENROLLMENT

Monday, September 16 – Friday, October 11, 2024

Open Enrollment is an opportunity for you to review your current benefit plan elections to ensure they continue to meet your needs and those of your family. This year, the º£½ÇÉçÇø Annual Open Enrollment period will take place from September 16, 2024 to October 11, 2024. The effective date for all changes that were made during the Open Enrollment period will be January 1, 2025.

Employees use CHRS Benefits Self-Service in to make all open enrollment changes including new enrollment and re-enrollment in the Health Care and Dependent Care Spending Accounts. For more information, please visit our How to Make Changes site.

If you have no changes to your current health, dental, vision or voluntary plans, you don’t need to do anything during Open Enrollment. Your plans will automatically continue for the upcoming plan year (excluding any Health Care or Dependent Care Reimbursement Account elections).


CHRS Open Enrollment Self-Service Virtual (via Zoom) Training

HR Benefits team will provide training and guidance on entering open enrollment elections in CHRS Benefits Self-Service. During the training, employees will have the opportunity to ask questions and receive assistance with enrollment.


º£½ÇÉçÇø Employee Virtual Benefits Fair - Oct 2, 2024 11am-2pm

Use the to attend the 2024 º£½ÇÉçÇø Employee Virtual Benefits Fair where various health plan and voluntary plan providers will be present to share important information about rates, changes, and key features. This event will be held in Zoom Events platform and is an opportunity to ask questions as you make important decisions regarding your coverage. Registration for the event is recommended.

What's New for 2025

Health Plan Rate Changes
Effective January 1, 2025 rates for most health plans will change.
 
PERS Gold and PERS Platinum Update - Blue Shield will be the new plan Administrator
Effective January 1, 2025, Blue Shield of California will be the new administrator for all PPO plans. For members currently in a basic plan, they are partnering with Included Health to provide member services, including answering inquiries, guiding members to the most appropriate in-network and high-quality providers, and providing care coordination services for members, particularly those with complex health conditions. Included Health will also expand access to care through their supplemental virtual primary care and behavioral health care services. There are no changes to copays, coinsurance, or deductibles with the transition to Blue Shield.

Vision Service Plan (VSP) Premier Rate Changes 
Effective January 1, 2025, monthly rates for the VSP Premier Plan will change.
  • Employee Only        $5.06
  • Employee + One      $17.08
  • Employee + Family  $31.73
The Standard is offering a one-time Special Enrollment for Life Insurance.
During this one-time special Open Enrollment you can:
  • Enroll in or increase your Voluntary Life insurance up to the special guarantee issue amount of $100,000, without answering medical questions.
  • Enroll or increase Voluntary Life Insurance for your Spouse/Registered Domestic Partner up to the guarantee issue of $50,000, without answering medical questions.
  • Medical underwriting approval is required for amounts over the special guarantee issue amount and for enrollees who were previously declined coverage by The Standard.
