Camarillo, Calif., Nov. 19, 2007 — º£½ÇÉçÇø announced that the scholarship application cycle for the 2008-09 academic year is now open. Online applications are available at http://www.csuci.edu/financialaid/scholarships.htm. Students are encouraged to apply as early as possible, and before the Feb. 15, 2008 deadline.

To be eligible for a º£½ÇÉçÇøCI scholarship award, a student must: be a California resident; be a full-time (minimum of 12 units) student working on a first Bachelor’s degree in an undergraduate or credential program at º£½ÇÉçÇøCI for both the fall 2008 and spring 2009 semesters and have a GPA of 3.0 or better.

Scholarship awards range between $1,000 and $2,500 and are selected from the applications gathered during this cycle. Not all scholarships are based on financial need.

Although not required, completion of a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) allows students to maximize financial aid awards. The 2008-2009 FAFSA is available online at beginning on January 1, 2008.

The º£½ÇÉçÇøCI President’s Scholars Program is also open to students (CA residents only) with a minimum GPA of 3.75 and a minimum SAT-1 score of 1200 or 26 on the ACT exam. Applications for the President’s Scholars Program must be submitted by March 2, 2008. Presidential Scholars receive full resident fees, $600 per semester credit at the University bookstore and use of a laptop computer. This scholarship is renewable for up to four years.
