º£½ÇÉçÇø

Camarillo, Calif., May 6, 2008—Representatives from º£½ÇÉçÇø joined members from the other 22 campuses in the California State University system for the º£½ÇÉçÇø Alumni Legislative Day in Sacramento on April 28.

In addition to meeting with legislators about issues impacting the º£½ÇÉçÇø, another component of the Sacramento visit is recognition of Alumni Advocates of the Year. Each º£½ÇÉçÇø campus selects one alumni advocate to honor based on advocacy efforts he or she has made at the local, state, or federal levels. º£½ÇÉçÇøCI has named Lori G. Macdonald as its 2008 º£½ÇÉçÇø Alumni Advocate of the Year.

Macdonald and others were honored at a luncheon attended by º£½ÇÉçÇø trustees, legislators, and º£½ÇÉçÇø Chancellor Charles B. Reed.

Macdonald (’05 Liberal Studies) became active in the º£½ÇÉçÇøCI Alumni & Friends Association in 2005. It was her thorough knowledge of º£½ÇÉçÇøCI and higher education that led to her becoming part of the campus Advocacy Team.

Macdonald attended the 2006 and 2007 º£½ÇÉçÇø Alumni Legislative Days and was consulted in 2005 for her knowledge on Cal Grants and on student access, EOP, and EAP programs. She also was a strong advocate on Proposition 1D, the successful initiative that brought more than $80M to the º£½ÇÉçÇøCI campus and has continually supported the º£½ÇÉçÇø in its budget advocacy for the last three years.
