Camarillo, Calif., March 19, 2008鈥敽=巧缜 Sailing Club members have been invited to compete in the Port of Los Angeles Harbor Cup hosted by the California Maritime Academy on Saturday, March 22 and Sunday, March 23. The race will be hosted at the Port of Los Angeles Yacht Club in San Pedro.

This is an invitational race with a field limit of eight entries. Sailboats for this regatta will be provided and are Catalina 37-foot racing yachts. 海角社区CI Sailing will compete against seven other elite university big boat teams from across the nation for the Harbor Cup title.

鈥淭his race is important because it is the first big boat race 海角社区CI Sailing has competed in. Our club has many new sailors and it has its work cut out as the competition includes some of the best teams in the nation,鈥 said Nick de Roulhac, junior and bow position for the event.聽 Most of the regattas 海角社区CI Sailing competes in are sailed using Club Flying Junior dinghies, which require two sailors per boat and are about 13 feet in length.

海角社区CI Sailing will crew its Catalina 37 with seven sailors. The following is a list including the name of the student, and position on the boat for this race:
Skipper: Austin Dias
Mainsail Trimmer: Jessica Williams
Headsail Trimmer: Taylor Jonason
Tailer: Ryan Fox
Pit: Kevin Schallert
Mast: Evin Locke
Bow: Nick de Roulhac
