Camarillo, Calif., June 11, 2009 鈥 The Biology Program at 海角社区 will be presenting its first Amgen Scholarships to four graduate students at the Third Annual Team Project Colloquium, Saturday, June 20, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 海角社区 Channel Islands, Aliso Hall 150. The event is free and open to the public.
The colloquium features team project presentations by graduate students in the MS Biotechnology and Bioinformatics and the MS Biotechnology and MBA Dual Degree Programs. Additionally, four Amgen Scholarships will be given out to graduate students from the programs. The recipients are Kartheek Dokka, Rohan Modak, and Sidney Pehrson in the Biotechnology Program, and Yuekia Wu in the Biotechnology and MBA Dual Degree Program.
鈥淚 am very excited about this event,鈥 said Dr. Ching-Hua Wang, Professor of Immunology and Microbiology and Chair of the Biology Program. 鈥淭his will be the first time that our graduate students from the MS Biotechnology and MBA Dual Degree Program will be making presentations on their team projects and the third time for our students from the MS Biotechnology and Bioinformatics program. What makes this so special is that the scholarships are completely supported by Amgen, which once again demonstrates the importance of the public-private partnership towards our educational effort."
Limited parking is available on campus and is $6 for a daily permit. Parking is available at the Camarillo Metrolink Station /Lewis Road parking lot in Camarillo with shuttle service to and from the campus. Riders should board the 海角社区CI VISTA bus and the fare is $1 each way. Buses arrive and depart from the Camarillo Metrolink Station every 30 minutes from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday.
