Camarillo, Calif., October 27, 2005 — Cedric Dempsey, a nationally recognized authority on collegiate sports, has signed a contract to serve as athletic program consultant to º£½ÇÉçÇø.
Dempsey has more than 50 years of experience in college athletics administration, including eight years of service as president of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Prior to serving the NCAA, Dempsey was director of athletics at several universities, including the University of Houston, the University of Arizona, San Diego State University, and the University of the Pacific. He has also coached and competed in many sports.
Dempsey met yesterday with the º£½ÇÉçÇøCI Athletic Advisory Committee that includes faculty, students, and staff, as well as community leaders Steve Thomas, Sr., owner and president of Steve Thomas BMW, and Tim Gallagher, publisher and president of the Ventura County Star.
