Camarillo, Calif., November 21, 2005 – Six º£½ÇÉçÇø students will be awarded scholarships at the third annual CPA/Law Society of Ventura County Scholarship Awards luncheon Friday, December 2, at the Pierpont Inn in Ventura.

º£½ÇÉçÇøCI students who each won $1,000 are Jodi Lukes and Bryan Easterly of Ventura, Barbara Paz and Yalitza Pena of Port Hueneme, Jon Garlington of Oxnard, and Seth Cox of Santa Barbara. All six are business majors. This year, the CPA/Law Society will award a total of $20,000 in scholarships to students from º£½ÇÉçÇøCI, Pepperdine University, the University of California, Santa Barbara, and the Ventura College of Law.

The CPA/Law Society is an organization of certified public accountants, attorneys, and other professionals who meet monthly to hear speakers on various topics of professional or personal interest. The third annual scholarship luncheon will feature º£½ÇÉçÇøCI President Richard Rush, who will introduce keynote speaker Jack O’Connell, state superintendent of public instruction.

The cost of the luncheon is $25 for members of the CPA/Law Society, as well as participating university and college students and faculty with current identification. Non-member cost is $35 per person. To attend, contact Barbara Gutierrez at 805-659-6800, ext. 215.
