Targeted Undergrounding ProjectsFeb. 11, 2025 – Southern California Edison (SCE) is working to reduce wildfire threats by burying power lines in high fire risk areas, especially in areas where the lines haven’t been replaced by covered conductor. By burying the power lines underground, the electrical system’s reliability during extreme weather should be enhanced by shielding it from high winds, vegetation, and other hazards that could cause fires or power outages.

Two projects will take place, please see details below for each.

DOLPHIN
The Dolphin project is 1.3 miles of underground cable installation along Potrero Road near º£½ÇÉçÇø. This project will have underground installation, followed by overhead distribution wire removal. Underground construction is expected to begin by March 2025 with project completion expected in summer of 2025.

HOOLIGAN
The Hooligan project is 3.6 miles of underground cable installation primarily along Potrero Road in Thousand Oaks, starting past Wendy Drive and ending just past Hidden Hills Drive. This project will have underground installation, followed by overhead distribution wire removal.

Underground construction is expected to begin by May 2025 with project completion expected by the end of 2025. Working hours will vary based on permit and traffic control conditions in the areas under construction at any given time.

Keep in mind, there may be noise related to the construction work during operating hours. To ensure your safety during construction, there will be road, traffic lane and sidewalk closures. Crews will use appropriate traffic control signs and flags.

Please be advised these dates and times are subject to change due to unforeseen operational factors or inclement weather.
