Miller is an internationally acclaimed performance artist whose work as a performer and writer explores his artistic, spiritual and political identity as a gay man. 鈥淕lory Box鈥 focuses on same-sex marriage and the struggle for immigration rights for lesbian and gay bi-national couples.
鈥淚 want the piece to conjure for the audience a new glory box, a new kind of hope chest, that can be an alternative site for the placing of memories, hopes, and dreams of gay people's extraordinary potential for love,鈥 explained Miller.
Miller has taught performance in the theater department at University California Los Angeles and the dance program at Cal State Los Angeles.
Following the performance, Miller's books - 鈥淪hirts & Skin,鈥 鈥淏ody Blows: Six Performances,鈥 and 鈥1001 Beds: Performances Essays, and Travels鈥 will be on sale and the author will be available to sign copies.
