Inaugural President鈥檚 Faculty Fellow
While learning to build her leadership capacity in higher education, the President鈥檚 inaugural Faculty Fellow, Associate Professor of Nursing LaSonya Davis, will focus on helping 海角社区CI to foster a diverse and inclusive academic community as well as developing strategies to eliminate equity gaps for students of color. A faculty member since 2012, Davis has more than 25 years鈥� experience as a registered nurse and over 18 as a nurse practitioner in family and women鈥檚 health. Her dedication to service is evident in the classroom and community. In addition to mentoring students in 鈥渢he art of caring,鈥� and treating women, children, geriatric patients and other vulnerable populations, she developed a thriving community mobile health clinic that provided free screenings, immunizations and health education to the public, while also giving students real-world clinical and community service experience. The President鈥檚 Faculty Fellow program was launched this year by President Erika Beck as an initiative to cultivate faculty leadership through the advancement of institutional mission fulfillment.
