Drake Massey is the Chief of Police and joined º£½ÇÉçÇøCI in August 2018 as a Lieutenant after two years working as a police lieutenant at his Alma Mater, º£½ÇÉçÇø Bakersfield.
Chief Massey earned his Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice and a Master's Degree in Public Administration from º£½ÇÉçÇø Bakersfield. He is a graduate of both the POST Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute and POST Command College.
Prior to joining university policing, Chief Massey had 27 years of service invested in his law enforcement career as a police officer in The City of Delano and a deputy sheriff with The Kern County Sheriff's Office where he retired at the rank of Commander. His assignments included Patrol, Detectives, Narcotics, Training, Special Operations, SWAT, and Internal Affairs.
Chief Massey says that joining º£½ÇÉçÇø was like a breath of fresh air. He values the positive environment and the wonderful people all helping young adults meet their educational goals. He absolutely loves being a part of the dolphin pod here at º£½ÇÉçÇøCI.
