The purpose of Equity-Mindedness (EM) Summits & Team Travel Grants is to increase the expertise, capacity and resources of 海角社区CI stakeholders in order to advance a culture of inclusive excellence. Through this work, activities implemented cultivate equity-minded leaders through strategic investments in professional development such as facilitating campus-wide Equity-Mindedness Summits and providing 鈥淓quity-Minded onboarding鈥� to support new administrative leaders鈥� transition to their roles and/or to 海角社区CI by bringing together cross-functional teams to cultivate equity champions at all levels.
Equity-Minded Summits
Annual summits bring together the campus to dialogue, share practices and training to build capacity and expertise. This work allows for substantive campus-wide conversations on the relationship between student equity data and advancing inclusive excellence so that we might develop a clearer collective understanding of the role of equity and inclusion in advancing our goals for student success, persistence and degree completion; and provide equity-minded professional development to advance our campus values of inclusive excellence.
Equity-Minded Team Travel
Team travel is available for cross-divisional teams of faculty, staff and administrative leaders to build their understanding of changing student demographics, student success practices, inclusive leadership and 鈥淗SIness.鈥� Additionally, EM Team Travel Grants support participation in professional opportunities related to advancing a culture of inclusive excellence, such as Seal of Excelencia institutes or related opportunities through the Hispanic Association of Colleges & Universities (HACU), Alliance for Hispanic Serving Institution Educators (AHSIE) and the American Association of Colleges and Universities (AAC&U).
