Orientation is the first step in your journey at 海角社区CI. There is a lot of information given to new students, so it is important you are prepared prior to your orientation. Please review the following checklist to help you have a successful orientation experience.
Pre-Orientation Checklist
1. Accept your offer of provisional admission by May 1, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.
Our offer of provisional admission will be withdrawn if all of the steps in the admission process are not completed, as described below, by the deadline.
- To accept your offer of provisional admission, start by logging into your and click on 鈥淐I Records.鈥 Your login information was sent to the email address you provided on your application.
- Once logged in, scroll down to the bottom of the page (under 鈥淎dmissions鈥) and 鈥淎ccept鈥 or 鈥淒ecline鈥 admission; then, follow the prompts.
- A yellow triangle will appear in your Student Center after you accept your provisional admission. Although you can ignore the triangle, you must pay close attention to items on your To Do List.Click here to learn more about checking your Admission Status
2. by May 1, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.
After accepting your provisional admission, you will be prompted to register for your Advising & Registration session. If you have logged off, please use this to register. For more information about New Student Registration, visit go.csuci.edu/NewStudentReg. Please contact orientation@csuci.edu if you have any questions.
3. by May 1, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.
After registering for your Advising & Registration session, please use this to register and select your orientation date. For more information about Orientation, visit go.csuci.edu/NSO. Please contact orientation@csuci.edu if you have any questions.
4. Pay the Non-Refundable Orientation Fee by May 1, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.
After registering for an orientation session, you will be prompted to pay the non-refundable orientation fee. It is highly recommended that you pay the orientation fee before logging out. If you log out prior to submitting payment, you will need to use the payment link embedded in your Student Center. To get there, log on to and click on 鈥淐I Records鈥 under 鈥淢y Links.鈥 For detailed instructions, visit go.csuci.edu/OrientationPayment.
Students who filed a 2025-2026 or the application on or before the March 2, 2025 deadline AND meet the criteria will be considered for a deferment. You must check the 鈥淗olds鈥 section of your Student Center (visible in the upper-right corner of your portal). If you do not see 鈥淔A Orientation Deferral,鈥 then you must pay the orientation fee by the above deadline or our offer of provisional admission will be withdrawn.
If you see 鈥淔A Orientation Deferral鈥 noted in the 鈥淗olds鈥 section of your Student Center, then payment of the orientation fee will be charged to your first semester鈥檚 account. In other words, your fee will be deferred (but not waived).
Payment options include an E-Check or credit card. E-Check option is free of charge. Credit card option will have a 2.65% added merchant convenience fee.
Funds must be readily available. There will be a $25 fee for insufficient funds and if incorrect account information is submitted.
5. Attend your Advising & Registration Session
As part of the New Student Onboarding process, ALL new undergraduate students are expected to register and attend a New Student Advising & Registration session in order to register for the fall 2025 semester. For more information visit the New Student Registration page.
6. Review your Learning Community Options
Students will receive a Joining the Pod survey after May 1st. Among other questions related to your course enrollment interests for your first year, this survey will require you to rank your top four Learning Community preferences. Take a look at the Learning Community options here to prepare for this requirement in the Joining the Pod survey.
7. Register for Navigate 海角社区CI Sessions
All incoming students are highly encouraged to register for a Navigate 海角社区CI session. Navigate 海角社区CI sessions will provide students an opportunity to learn more about specific programs and services, as well as crucial information to smoothly transition to 海角社区CI this fall. These offerings will take place in July. Sessions will be an hour in length, with a 45-minute presentation and 15-minute Q & A. Registration for these session will be available June 2025.
8.Complete Dolphin Link
Dolphin Link will provide an opportunity to learn about the different programs and services available to you at 海角社区CI. Access to this platform will be available June 2025.
9. Complete FOCUS 2 Career
FOCUS 2 is an online, self-guided system that will help you to identify occupations that best suit you and develop a career and educational plan: Getting Started PDF. The access code is "dolphins" (lower case).
10. Submit Immunizations
All students entering 海角社区CI in classes for course credit are required to submit records of immunity for CI鈥檚 general immunization requirements. Students should submit their records prior to their orientation date.
11. Attend Your Orientation
First Year Orientation is a mandatory overnight program that will introduce you to all things 海角社区CI. At orientation, you will learn about CI-specific policies, programs and services to assist you in a successful academic, emotional, cultural and social transition. You will also meet other new Dolphins in your assigned pods. You are required to complete all requirements outlined by Orientation & Engagement Programs in order to maintain your enrollment.
