As an institution of higher learning, 海角社区CI is committed to the process of learning and development of its faculty, staff and administrators. The programs listed below provide such opportunity and aims to expand professional development opportunity that cultivate leadership skills and enhanced career success for faculty and staff.
President's Operational Effectiveness Collaborative (POEC)
POEC was created in Fall 2023 to understand root causes of operational challenges. Staff, faculty, and administrators from across campus submit proposals about a real-life issue or process at 海角社区CI that they wanted to study, learn from, resolve, and/or improve upon. The teams that were selected began their work by learning how to use multiple lenses for analyzing challenges (and successes) before beginning to make recommendations for improvement (or how to grow successes in other areas).
Critical Learning Collectives (CLC)
CLCs are comprised typically of 8-12 people who commit to regular participation (typically for two hours monthly) and the creation of a confidential, 鈥渟afe-as-possible-for-risk-taking鈥 kind of space. Survey data from CFG/CLC participants over the past several years at CI consistently support the idea that in these groups, support can be sought, risks can be taken, critical conversations can be had, trust can be grown, and thorny problems can be tackled -- all through the process of working on dilemmas of professional practice (for example, campus climate issues) with the help of structured protocols led by qualified facilitators.
CI Connect
The CI Connect program has been created as a means of investing in our faculty and staff鈥檚 development and creating opportunities for members of our community to learn how our University鈥檚 work and people are interconnected. CI Connect is a high-level, immersive and behind-the-scenes culture initiative.
Faculty Fellow Program
The purpose of the President鈥檚 Faculty Fellow Program is to cultivate faculty leadership through the advancement of institutional mission fulfillment. As part of the program, the Faculty Fellow will gain exposure to the complexity of running an academic enterprise through a variety of means including having regular meetings with the President and Cabinet, as well as attending various university and system-wide meetings.
