DASS' Disability Pride Mission:

We believe disability is an important part of our diverse campus. We are committed to creating a space where all students see themselves here, are valued, and proud of who they are. We celebrate students' strengths, honor their achievements, and support them in building confidence at º£½ÇÉçÇøCI.

How can you show Disability Pride?

  1. Educate yourself on the history of disability rights, the different types of disabilities, and how you can be an ally. 
  2. Visit the to learn how this organization supports people with non-visible disabilities globally. 
  3. Show your commitment to making people with disabilities feel seen and valued by displaying a Disability Pride Flag or Hidden Disabilities Sunflower in your space. Here's how: 
    • Pick up Disability Pride Flags or Stickers from DASS
  4. Take action every day to include peers with disabilities, creating safe environments for them, and continuing to seek more knowledge and compassion.

Diversity Inclusion and Accessibility (DIA)

DIA is an inclusive campus club dedicated to supporting students with disabilities, as well as those who love or are friends with individuals with disabilities. It also serves as a community for those pursuing careers in fields such as government, education, therapy, psychology, social work, healthcare, and more!

Delta Alpha Pi - Eta Zeta Chapter

Delta Alpha Pi (DAPi) is an academic honor society started in 2004 at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania. It honors college students with disabilities for their academic achievements. The Eta Zeta chapter of DAPi has been at º£½ÇÉçÇø Channel Islands since February 2021.

Requirements:

  • 3.1 GPA and completion of 24 units
  • Have a disability 
  • Demonstrate an interest in disability issues
  • Be enrolled and active in a º£½ÇÉçÇøCI major (either undergraduate or graduate) or certificate program
  • Willing to attend club meetings (virtually or in-person)
