Thanks to all who have participated thus far in campus visioning for 2030+ discussions 鈥� from members of the President鈥檚 Select Committee who began the work in Nov-Dec, to all of last week鈥檚 participants in the 海角社区CI for 2030+ Webinar and follow-up Campus Forum on March 5 & 6. Continuing synchronous and asynchronous conversational opportunities will be taking place through April, as we move from brainstorming to identifying our vision statement for 2030+. Please watch for invitations to join in.
Meetings with the Select Committee and with the campus community at large have been incredibly energizing for me. From the feedback I鈥檝e received, I know they have been for many others, too. While the March 1 EAB presentation on was sobering, given the profoundly changed landscape of higher education today compared to when most of us were earning our post-secondary degrees, how we are meeting this moment is invigorating and inspiring. More importantly, it is action oriented.
One of things that stood out to me from the EAB 鈥淩eckoning with Relevance鈥� presentation was a quote from Alvin Toeffler, who said, 鈥淭he illiterate of the 21st Century are those who cannot unlearn and relearn.鈥� It is undeniable that the status quo in higher education has been undone. The remaking is on our watch.
We are in a moment in the history of higher education 鈥� and in the history of our nation and world 鈥� that is incredibly challenging. It is also incredibly charged with possibility. Please attend the March 13 Campus Forum if you鈥檙e able, From Visioning to Strategizing, in the Grand Salon from 9-11am ().
