June 4, 2024
Dear Campus Community:
Just a few weeks ago, April 24-26, 2024, our campus hosted our WSCUC On Site Visit Team for Reaffirmation. By all accounts, the visit went well. Students, faculty, staff, and administrator participation was impressive during the visit, and our campus has been complimented for being an outstanding host. Every division across the University played an essential role in the success of our accreditation report and subsequent visit, and it is with much appreciation and gratitude that I write to you today. Thank you. Some of you may be wondering what the next steps in the reaffirmation process are, so I would like to walk you through that information.
As º£½ÇÉçÇøCI’s president, I have been invited to attend the WSCUC Commission Meeting scheduled to take place June 26-28, 2024. During this meeting, WSCUC will hold a panel to review the Visit Team’s report and recommendations for reaffirmation of accreditation. At that time, the Commission will decide whether to accept the team’s report and recommendation and finalize the timeline for º£½ÇÉçÇøCI’s next accreditation cycle. An important aspect of the accreditation process is the use of the team report by the institution. To support institutional improvement, Commission policy calls for widespread dissemination of the team report and the Commission action letter to faculty, staff, and students. Therefore, once we receive the action letter from WSCUC the team report and recommendations will be made publicly available.
This Fall we will offer opportunities to learn more about the team report and recommendations, and engage the campus in the action plan outlined in º£½ÇÉçÇøCI’s Institutional Report. To that end, a magazine-style version of the institutional report entitled, Investing in Student Success, has also been developed to expand and deepen the conversation around what we’ve accomplished and where we are headed. This additional information can be accessed from our Accreditation webpage.
I am proud of the work the campus put into our accreditation process, and the successful visit that resulted from that work. More details will follow the WSCUC Commission meeting to be held in June.
Sincerely,
Richard Yao, Ph.D.
President
