2023-2024 POEC Projects
Campus Guest Accommodations
º£½ÇÉçÇø Channel Islands does an excellent job managing student, faculty, and staff disability accommodations, but lacks a clear accommodation protocol for guests to campus events. This project investigated ways to address the issue so the University can create a similar accessible and equitable experience for guests on the campus.
Forms & Workflows
In 2023, the Registrar’s Office received and processed nearly 3,500 student-initiated requests that required staff to manually update the student record. This project investigated ways to simplify form submissions and student-initiated requests with more automated routing and communication to improve the operational side of the student experience.
Recruitment Coordination
º£½ÇÉçÇøCI is committed to attracting talented and diverse students. To achieve this goal, various academic and non-academic units engage in outreach and recruitment activities across Ventura County. This project investigated what recruitment efforts exist and to find ways to foster collaboration and resource sharing among units to ensure º£½ÇÉçÇøCI reaches its full potential.
Student Gift Cards
This project investigated critical challenges in administrative processes and the role of administrative staff within the HR (Human Resources frame) framework in student research gift cards. Two key areas of focus include improving the efficiency of administrative processes across the institution and addressing the needs and challenges faced by administrative staff in their roles.
Schedule of Classes
º£½ÇÉçÇøCI’s Schedule of Classes (SoC) data is entered and maintained in CI Records. This data, once published, is then viewable to students, faculty, and staff on five separate platforms. These platforms do not have a unified maintenance support structure or effective use strategy. This project investigated the five platforms, responsible units, and process workflows to look for inefficiencies and find ways to improve both the user experience and processes for º£½ÇÉçÇøCI staff.
